Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, (BGU) is one of the leading universities in Israel and globally in the fields of Desalination and water resources management. The Department for Desalination and Water Treatment of the Zuckerberg Institute for Water Science and Technology is charged with investigating desalination technologies for seawater and saline groundwater. The department's team of scientists and engineers specializes in the development of liquid-phase separation and desalination techniques (including high- and low-pressure reverse osmosis, microfiltration, nanofiltration, ultrafiltration, ozonation, electrodialysis, sorption and ion exchange, and sand filtration). The Department has state-of-the-art laboratory facilities and equipment for advanced water treatment and desalination and microbiology research.
